Lars Smith is a self-taught and school trained luthier. Born in 1951 in Tacoma WA., Lars took to building and repairing things as soon as he was able to hold a screwdriver. Lars developed an appreciation for guitar music and design in his teens. Always the tinkerer, he would often disassemble, repaint,  or otherwise modify his guitar.  After high school he attended Eastern Washington University and graduated with a degree in education. Lars has recently attended the Summit School of Guitar Repair where he was able to add to his self taught luthier skills. Lars lives in Walla Walla, WA with his girlfriend Carol, son Derek, and two dogs, Fluffy and Snowball.
